Tourism Simcoe County
Services: Responsible destination development and stewardship
May – December 2022
Tourism Simcoe County needed a plan to support the County’s work as a destination steward in the years to come, providing direction on the organization’s vision for tourism in the County and its role and responsibilities in community engagement, destination management, market research, tracking and resource allocation. Bannikin worked with Tourism Simcoe County to develop a destination stewardship plan for the organization that would guide its work as a destination steward. The plan situates the County of Simcoe’s tourism role and responsibilities within a future where the destination is flourishing. It also clearly articulates how Tourism Simcoe County is going to work towards this vision by co-creating value with its stakeholders! As part of the process, we developed project objectives to guide our collaboration, contextualized Tourism Simcoe County’s current business model, identified and meaningfully engaged its stakeholders, designed an inspiring vision for Tourism Simcoe County, and determined the steps that the organization must take to get closer to its inspiring vision.

To prepare Tourism Simcoe County to move forward with “One, Together” we worked closely with the organization’s staff to support implementation planning for the strategy, including the design and development of an implementation planning framework, critical path template for the team to use as they move forward with implementation, and strategy report design for awareness building and dissemination.
