Provided support and outreach in building Oku Japan’s profile among key outlets and journalists in North America and Australia, particularly in the face of the aftermath of the Covid-19 pandemic with Japan only reopening its borders to international visitors in October 2022. One key part of this was following up with media who had been hosted by Oku Japan in the months leading up to the shutdown of travel, with a goal of re-engaging with those journalists and – even with the three-year gap – generate coverage that would assist Oku on their path to recovery.

Outcome

In addition to starting the conversation again about travel to Japan and getting Oku Japan on media radars again, we successfully re-engaged with a journalist who had travelled with the company in the fall of 2019 and work with her to get a feature story placed in a top tier consumer outlet.
