The Situation

Santiago Adventures has been in operation since 2003 as a Chilean DMC, experiencing a steady sales growth rate since. However, Brian Pearson, Santiago Adventures’ owner and founder, was looking to expand the company’s presence in the North American market. In May 2012, Santiago Adventures contacted Bannikin with the intention of developing relationships with a targeted group of custom trip planners, travel agents and tour operators in select Canadian and US markets.

 

What We Did

Bannikin supported Santiago Adventures in its launch of a new website and created strong alliances with several North America trade partners focused on reselling the operator’s itineraries, primarily those focusing on wine and cycling in Chile.

To meet and exceed Santiago Adventures’ sales goals, Bannikin undertook the following activities:

  • Hosted two Toronto-based small lunch events, securing key trade targets, with the goal of showcasing the Santiago Adventures team and offerings to qualified buyers
  • Managed appointment calendar on sales trips to key markets; accompanied Santiago Adventures team to sales calls and led meetings
  • Supported program development, working in tandem with Santiago Adventures to craft compelling programs to appeal to their North American targets
  • Ongoing relationship management outreach with all partners
